What is HypnoBirthing?
HypnoBirthing® is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. It is a rewarding, relaxing, stress-free method of birthing that is based on the belief that all babies should come into the world gently, in an atmosphere of calm and joy. HypnoBirthing prepares a birthing couple – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – for an easier, more comfortable and, sometimes, pain-free, birth. Through a well-thought-out program of deep relaxation, self-hypnosis, special breathing techniques, visualisations, affirmations, and education, HypnoBirthing® returns to a woman the art of birthing in a way that allows her to summon her natural birthing instincts and to birth her baby safely and with ease. HypnoBirthing® is based on the belief that severe discomfort does not need to be a natural accompaniment of birthing when a woman is prepared and trusts her birthing body.
My Heart Story
Hello! I’m Vanessa and I would be SO honoured to be a part of your sacred and special journey of pregnancy and child birth.
I have two beautiful children, Jesse and Lakey and had two VERY different births.
For my husband (Scott) and I, and for Jesse- his birth was quite traumatic and we were all left with both emotional and physical scars. This opened my eyes to the broken maternity system and to how uneducated I was around making decisions about my birth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We recommend you start the course between 24-32 weeks pregnant. The closer you do it to your birthing time, the fresher the information will be in your mind. However, if you are someone who likes time to plan and practice, of course you can do the course earlier if you like.
The answer to this is a big YES!!! Yes, absolutely partners are to come to the course. We really encourage your partner to be an integral part of the birthing process, not just an onlooker. It is essential that you are both on the same page about your wants and desires for this birth. Furthermore, the course focuses on equipping partners with skills and techniques to help them feel confident to support the birthing mother. It is also a beautiful
way to connect and plan bringing your beautiful baby into this world together. Your partner can include any support person who will be there at your birth.
We know that when working towards changing our core beliefs and mindset, it takes time and practice. That is why we teach the course over the 5 weeks, to give you time to digest the information, time to read the textbook and time to practice the breath work and techniques, whilst being supported each week. Habits do not change overnight, and we know it is best practice to learn new information and practice new skills over time.
The course runs over 5 weeks, each session we focus on a different topic:
1. Dehypnotising and building a positive expectancy
2. Falling in love with your baby and Preparing your mind and body
3. Advanced Visualisation
